“Soccer Opportunity for Youth” |
|
|
From the Pitch...
The Westside Soccer Club (WSC) exists
primarily for youth to learn, play, and have fun with soccer. The tremendous
adult volunteer effort needed to support the club is based on one premise --
soccer is an excellent method for positive youth development, character
building, sportsmanship and skills development, and discipline and
accountability learning. Further, no youth should be denied the opportunity
to play soccer because of financial reasons. Everyone -- players, parents, and coaches
-- involved with the Westside Soccer Club should be able to support this
philosophy. |
What's Inside: |
|
The club exists for youth to learn, play, and have fun in soccer. The tremendous adult volunteer effort needed to support the club is based on one premise: soccer is an excellent vehicle for positive child development, character building, skill development, sportsmanship, and self-discipline. Since the WSC believes that no youth should be denied the opportunity to participate due to financial circumstances, family rates and scholarships are available. The WSC meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (except December), location varies. If you have questions or concerns, you are encouraged to attend the meetings or send written comments to the club at PO Box 11127, Olympia 98508-1127. Or call Mo Sheikhizadeh at 866-7541.
The Westside Soccer Club is made up of the youth and parents involved in recreational youth soccer on Olympia's Westside. The club follows the guidelines set by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association and is a member of the Deschutes Youth Soccer Association. The Deshutes Youth Soccer Association is made up of three recreational clubs; Olympia, West Olympia, Tumwater and Black Hills Futbol Club which provides competitive soccer opportunities.
